Reporter Tests $4,000 Chinese Quadruped Robot in Daily Commute

During a sunny morning in June, a reporter documented their experience commuting alongside a quadruped robot purchased from China for approximately $4,000. The mechanical companion attracted significant public interest, with numerous pedestrians stopping to photograph the device and inquire about its ownership and purpose.

According to the account, bystanders frequently asked whether the robot belonged to the reporter, if it had been self-built, and whether it was being utilized for surveillance purposes. In every instance, the responses clarified that the unit was a commercial purchase rather than a DIY project and was not equipped for monitoring activities.

The interaction between the robot and local animals also drew attention. Biological dogs maintained a cautious distance from the mechanical unit, with some exhibiting aggressive behavior such as growling or barking at the passing robot.
