Report: Apple’s Foldable Phone to Be Called iPhone Duo, Starting at $2,000

Just hours before Apple hosts its first iPhone launch event under CEO John Ternus, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman has revealed that the company’s long-anticipated folding phone will be officially named the iPhone Duo.

According to Gurman’s late-night report, the device will feature 256GB of storage and carry a starting price tag of $2,000. The foldable is expected to go on sale as early as October, available in white and dark blue finishes.

While the unannounced product has frequently been referred to in rumors as the iPhone Ultra, Gurman’s disclosure introduces the Duo branding. The name overlaps with previous technology industry efforts: Google previously utilized the title for an unsuccessful messaging application, and Microsoft has already filed trademark applications for the term in relation to its own foldable hardware.

As details continue to emerge ahead of Apple’s upcoming keynote, further specifics regarding the device’s specifications and availability remain to be confirmed.

  1. October release would be great timing, but I wonder if the battery life will hold up with the dual screen setup.
