Allie Jenkins, representing Crawford and her husband, businessman Rande Gerber, issued a statement through CBS, the BBC’s US news partner, requesting that the family be granted privacy during this «very difficult and painful time.»
Gerber followed in the footsteps of his mother and younger sister, Kaia, launching a career in fashion. He made his runway debut at the age of 16 for the Italian luxury house Moschino and subsequently walked for prominent brands including Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Bottega Veneta. His father, Rande Gerber, is a prominent entrepreneur who co-founded the Casamigos tequila brand alongside actor George Clooney.
In recent years, the model had been transparent about his battles with addiction and mental health issues. During a 2023 appearance on the Studio 22 podcast, he stated, «Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do.»
In a recent feature in American Vogue, his sister Kaia discussed the impact of Presley’s addiction on the family. She revealed that she had come to identify as the «easy one» within the household and admitted to never having sought help, noting that such family tragedies tend to affect everyone equally.
