Monday’s racing schedule features action from three venues—Newcastle, Worcester, and Yarmouth—all broadcast live on Sky Sports Racing.
At Worcester, Potters Charm steps out for the first time over fences in the Paul Ferguson’s Jumpers to Follow Novices’ Chase. The gelding struggled against open competition last season despite only suffering one defeat during his novice hurdles campaign. He returned to winning form at Windsor in January and later claimed victory at Grade Two level in the National Spirit Hurdle at Fontwell. Connections have long believed he is best suited to fences and are tipped to dominate the event.
Jupiter des Mottes also enters the race with strong credentials, bringing unexposed form from the hurdle circuit, highlighted by a handicap win at Perth in April. Although he made an unsuccessful chasing debut in November 2025, the switch to top trainer Dan Skelton and the three-mile distance suggest he could significantly improve for fences.
Who’s Glen adds experience to the field but will be hoping that both Jupiter des Mottes and Potters Charm falter over the obstacles. Irish pointer Vicomte le Brave makes his rules debut in the contest.
Back at Newcastle, Promising two-year-old Starburster makes her handicap debut in the Follow @attheraces On Instagram Nursery Handicap. Trained by Richard Spencer, the filly was an impressive fourth on her first start before dominating at Newbury in her second run, beating Bidsta—who has since won on her last two outings. Starburster’s unexposed nature and solid performances make her a strong contender off an opening mark of 82.
She faces tough opposition from Innichen, who thrives in major nursery handicaps, and Blazing Inferno, who is expected to bounce back after a last-place finish in the Weatherbys 2-Y-O Stakes at York. Siouxperb may also reappear in form on the all-weather surface after dropping two pounds, having previously disappointed in the Coventry but shown promise in subsequent runs. Minzelle is another notable entry, though she has failed to capitalize on her high-profile Listed company appearances.
At Yarmouth, Status Symbol steps up to 10 furlongs in the British EBF Restricted Novice Stakes. A son of Space Blues trained by Ed Walker, he finished a convincing fourth on debut at odds of 50-1. Walker’s two-year-olds often show marked improvement after their first start, and Status Symbol appears well-suited to the increased distance given his dam was a winner over a mile and a half.
Able Tasman remains the only winner in the field, having triumphed after a four-month break on his second start. He faces a rematch with Deira Moon, who ran on well despite interference and placed second at Goodwood next time out. A seven-pound penalty for Able Tasman could level the contest. Quintillion, who ran a strong second to Wykehurst Park on his previous start, is also expected to improve for the longer trip and could challenge for maiden status. Good Job and Spong Hill make their debuts, with Good Job boasting a promising pedigree as the half-brother of dual Group Two winner Opal Tiara.
