President Donald Trump stated that the discussions with Iran’s delegation were productive, describing the session as a “very good meeting” that spanned approximately three hours. However, tensions remain palpable; earlier in his address to the UN General Assembly, Trump indicated he faces a significant choice regarding Tehran, stating he must decide whether to negotiate a deal or pursue the “annihilate” of the country.
Market analysts suggest that mediation efforts by Pakistan could help mitigate the risk of a broader regional escalation. Paolo Broccardo, chief executive officer at private digital bank BankPro, noted that these diplomatic maneuvers are likely to prevent sharp spikes in oil prices in the immediate term.
Broccardo highlighted that crude prices have dropped by nearly 12% over five consecutive trading sessions, pulling back from what he described as the “intervention zone” above $100 per barrel. This price level has previously served as a catalyst for intensified peace-building efforts from both Washington and Tehran.
