O2 has finalized a record-breaking £200 million agreement to maintain the naming rights for the London arena known as the O2. The deal is believed to be the largest renewal of its kind in British history, extending the telecommunications giant’s association with the venue until at least 2038.
The 10-year sponsorship extension represents a 50% increase over the terms of the previous agreement, crowning a particularly lucrative year for the live entertainment venue. This latest deal solidifies the sponsorship as the second longest-running stadium naming rights partnership in the UK, trailing only Arsenal Football Club’s arrangement with its London stadium.
