Hello Games has confirmed that its sprawling sci-fi exploration title, No Man’s Sky, will launch on iOS devices on October 28. The update brings the game to both the iPhone and iPad.
According to Hello Games founder Sean Murray, the mobile iteration will not be a stripped-down version of the original. In a blog post, Murray emphasized that players should not expect a “No Man’s Sky Lite” experience. Instead, the release includes the comprehensive suite of updates and expansions released since the game’s initial launch, including last year’s major Voyagers expansion.
The primary features excluded from the mobile release are multiplayer functionality and specific PC-level features. This move expands the No Man’s Sky universe to Apple’s ecosystem while maintaining the core content that has built its long-running fanbase.
No multiplayer? That’s a bummer for co-op fans, but at least the core exploration remains intact. Counting down the days!
Finally, I can explore the galaxy on my commute. The fact that it’s not a cutdown version is a huge relief.
