While the expiration does not imply an immediate flood of hundreds of new vehicles into Las Vegas streets, it grants Zoox greater flexibility to scale its fleet of custom-built, cube-shaped vehicles that operate without steering wheels or pedals.
Currently, Zoox operates approximately 100 robotaxis across four U.S. cities, including Austin, Miami, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.
