Following the unveiling of several new capabilities for its Muse AI application at the Connect 2026 developer conference, Meta has opened an early access program for the platform. On Friday, the company announced that users can now request to join the trial list for these upcoming features.
To sign up, users are directed to share a specific prompt with the Muse bot on X. Alternatively, individuals can copy and paste the instruction: “Can you let the Muse team know I want to be part of the Muse early access program?”
Unlike traditional beta programs that rely on randomized A/B testing to gather feedback, Meta is targeting AI enthusiasts for this rollout. The company aims to leverage this dedicated demographic, which typically has extensive experience across multiple AI applications, to refine its tools and maintain a competitive edge in the rapidly evolving market.
Among the highlighted features teased during the Connect conference is a video-capable digital avatar for Muse, allowing users to interact face-to-face. Other updates include a significantly expanded ecosystem of shopping partners and connectors, as well as an enhanced version of the Muse Mac application designed to execute tasks directly on the user’s computer.
Additionally, Meta confirmed that Muse will soon be integrated into its camera-free AI glasses lineup. This addition will enable users to command the AI agent through voice activation using a wake word, further embedding the technology into everyday wearables.
Please let the Mac app actually handle complex tasks reliably. I’ve tried similar tools and they mostly just open tabs for me.
I’m skeptical they can differentiate from other assistants. The digital avatar sounds cool but needs to actually feel natural, not uncanny.
