Swansea City head coach Vitor Matos has declared that his squad possesses the quality to defeat any opponent in the Championship, following a strong start to the 2026-27 season.
The Swans climbed back to second place in the league table, trailing only leaders West Ham United on goal difference, after securing a convincing 3-1 victory over Burnley on Saturday. Goals from Adam Idah, Moussa Yeo, and Zan Vipotnik ensured an ideal response following their sole league defeat of the campaign, which came at Southampton earlier in the week.
Despite the impressive result, Matos admitted he was unsure of Swansea’s exact standing in the standings but emphasized that the team’s performances demonstrate their capability at this level.
