Maryland Teen Recovering After Rabid Beaver Attack at State Park

A 13-year-old boy from Maryland is undergoing recovery from several surgeries and nerve damage following an incident in which a rabid beaver attacked him, officials have reported.

Dominick Cebula was swimming at a well-frequented location within Cunningham Falls state park in Thurmont on July 26 when the animal assaulted his chest underwater. The incident marks another in a series of similar attacks that have recently occurred throughout the state.

According to local news reports, encounters of this nature are uncommon, yet they have become increasingly recurrent in recent times.
