The Federal Trade Commission, joined by seven state attorneys general, has moved to hold former pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli in contempt of court. The legal action centers on allegations that Shkreli disregarded previous judicial orders regarding his conduct.
According to regulators, Shkreli is accused of improperly influencing trading in biopharmaceutical stocks after being subject to restraining orders stemming from his prior legal troubles. The complaint marks a renewed effort by federal and state authorities to enforce compliance from the figure widely known as the “pharma bro” due to his past controversies over drug pricing.
