A man has lost his life after being attacked by a tiger at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, according to South Yorkshire Police. The incident occurred at the attraction located near Doncaster.
Officers were dispatched to the scene at 13:35 BST on Friday following reports that an individual had entered the tiger enclosure. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed the animal attacked the man, who subsequently died at the location.
No further details regarding the identity of the deceased or the circumstances that led to the enclosure breach have been released at this time.
How sad for the man, but also a reminder of how dangerous wild animals truly are. We often forget that at zoos.
This is why you never, ever ignore barrier signs. Personal responsibility matters more than we think.
I wonder if the tiger has to be euthanized now? It must be terrified after such a violent encounter.
Was he drunk, or did he try to pay for entry? These things rarely happen by accident anymore.
This is absolutely heartbreaking. I can’t imagine the family’s grief. Such a tragic way to lose someone.
