Moscow appears determined to send a stark message to NATO regarding Kaliningrad, the Russian exclave situated between Poland and Lithuania along the Baltic coast. The Kremlin is positioning the territory as a new nuclear red line in Europe, a move critics suggest is more about psychological warfare than actual strategic preparation.
This heightened rhetoric has gained traction following the broadcast of “The Wargame,” a British television miniseries aired by Sky News. The program examines potential United Kingdom responses to various military scenarios, prompting Moscow to intensify its signals about the defensibility and nuclear significance of its westernmost stronghold.
