A federal judge has issued a temporary restraining order compelling the White House to immediately restore hard-pass press credentials to CNN, Politico, and MS NOW. The ruling was granted to the media organizations following the revocation of their passes on September 18.
U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly authorized the request in the case Cable News Networks, Inc. v. Trump. The order mandates that defendants, excluding President Donald Trump, along with their agents and representatives, reinstate the credentials held by employees of the three outlets without delay.
The temporary measure is set to remain in effect for 14 days unless the court modifies or extends it. The legal battle arises after President Trump announced the ban on the three networks from White House grounds in September 2026.
