Jaguar Land Rover is currently engaged in discussions with several NATO member states regarding the sale of its recently upgraded Defender military vehicle. The UK-based manufacturer aims to capitalize on the broader trend of increased defense expenditure across Europe.
In addition to these international pursuits, the company is competing for a significant contract from the UK Ministry of Defence valued at £900 million. This deal is intended to replace a fleet of Land Rovers that have been out of production since 2016. JLR faces competition from General Motors and the British automaker Ineos for this government contract.
