Insta360 has expanded its lineup of handheld stabilizers with the new Luna Pro, a device positioned as a direct competitor to DJI’s Osmo Pocket series. While the company previously made waves earlier this year with the dual-lens Luna Ultra, this new model simplifies the design by removing the telephoto lens, resulting in a more streamlined package.
A key differentiator for the Luna Pro is its ability to capture vertical video in 4K resolution. Furthermore, unlike the DJI Osmo Pocket 4, which remains unavailable in the United States, the Insta360 Luna Pro can be purchased directly by American consumers.
Internally, the device shares significant DNA with its predecessor. It retains the same 1-inch-type 8K sensor found in the main camera of the Luna Ultra. The physical design is also consistent, featuring a detachable 2-inch touchscreen that functions as a remote control, along with four hours of battery life and an NFC tag designed to facilitate faster file transfers.
The detachable screen is a genius touch. Makes it way more portable than clunky DSLR rigs.
So it’s basically a cut-down Ultra? I’ll wait for reviews before dropping cash on this.
