IKEA’s Badkruka Speaker Launches in the US with Optical Input and $59.99 Price Tag

IKEA has made its new Badkruka wireless Bluetooth speaker available in the United States for $59.99. The device draws visual inspiration from the company’s earlier Kallsup speaker, which debuted at CES 2026, but represents a significant shift in form factor and functionality.

Standing nearly seven inches tall, the Badkruka features a boxy silhouette that prioritizes stationary use over portability. Unlike the compact Kallsup, this newer model does not include a rechargeable battery, meaning it must be kept near a power outlet. The finish options are also more subdued, offering either a standard black plastic exterior or a pink variant with a texture resembling wood grain.

While color choices are limited compared to the smaller Kallsup, the Badkruka distinguishes itself by adding an optical input for audio connections, in addition to standard Bluetooth pairing. This allows users to connect TVs and other devices via digital audio cables, catering to a home entertainment setup rather than on-the-go listening.
