Hull City’s Sorba Thomas escapes injury after car overturns near training ground

The Hull City football club confirmed on Friday that winger Sorba Thomas sustained no injuries following a road traffic accident involving his vehicle near the team’s training ground.

According to British media reports, the incident occurred Friday morning in Cottingham, a village in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The car ended up on its roof on a narrow street, and images showing the overturned vehicle with shattered glass circulated widely on social media platforms.

In an official statement, Hull City expressed relief at confirming Thomas’s safety. “The club is aware of images of Sorba’s car circulating on social media and can reassure supporters that he has sustained no injuries and emerged from his vehicle completely unscathed,” the club stated.

Thomas, a 27-year-old Wales international, recently joined the newly promoted Premier League side from Championship club Stoke City on transfer deadline day earlier this month. He has made two appearances for Hull, who currently sit third in the league standings after three games. The team is scheduled to play against Chelsea on Saturday.
