Hayden Panettiere’s Death Ruled Accidental Overdose Involving Fentanyl

Actor Hayden Panettiere died as a result of an accidental drug overdose that included fentanyl, according to a statement released Tuesday by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office in South Carolina.

Emergency personnel responded to a residence in Greenville on the afternoon of August 16 after responding to a call regarding Panettiere. Despite the administration of advanced cardiac life support, the actress was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy conducted by the coroner’s office determined the manner of death to be accidental. The cause of death was attributed to the toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine. Officials noted there were no signs of trauma associated with her passing.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death has been closed following the release of these findings.
