Hall and Woodford Awarded Nobel in Economic Sciences for Crisis Navigation Research

Robert E. Hall of Stanford University and Michael Woodford of Columbia University have been named recipients of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, recognizing their contributions to economic stabilisation.

The laureates’ work provides central banks and government officials with frameworks to better interpret economic fluctuations, manage periods of recession and inflation, and incorporate public expectations into policy decisions.

The accompanying prize fund, valued at approximately $1.2 million, will be divided equally between the two economists.
