Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, a Republican from Pennsylvania, revealed on Saturday that he will introduce bipartisan legislation designed to prevent President Trump from removing sanctions on Russian oil, a move that could occur amid ongoing global fuel shortages.
The proposed legislation, titled the ‘Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act,’ is intended to strictly prohibit any and all purchases of Russian oil by the United States. Fitzpatrick emphasized the bipartisan nature of the effort, signaling cross-party concern over energy security and foreign policy implications.
