Federal Spending on Pro-Trump Ads Continues Despite Court Order; Ilhan Omar Home Raided

Millions of dollars in taxpayer money have been utilized to finance advertisements promoting President Trump, a practice that persisted even after the president pledged to cover campaign costs through his private super PAC, MAGA Inc. According to an NPR analysis of AdImpact data, nearly $22 million in federal funds was spent since the advertising campaign launched in late September. Approximately $10 million of that total was incurred after October 5, when Trump announced on Truth Social that he would personally fund the effort.

The advertisements remained active despite a federal judge’s directive to remove them. While the White House has characterized the spending as funding for public service announcements, a lawsuit filed by Common Cause and other organizations alleged the ads were produced without congressional approval, thereby violating prohibitions against taxpayer-funded propaganda and publicity.

In separate legal developments, federal agents executed a search warrant at the Washington, D.C., home of Representative Ilhan Omar.

Meanwhile, the president has intensified his travel schedule ahead of the midterm elections. Following a rally in Youngstown, Ohio, on Monday night, Trump traveled to Alaska on Tuesday with additional events planned for the remainder of the week. Campaign strategies have focused on urging supporters to vote as if Trump were a candidate on the ballot. His recent appearances have mirrored the tone of his presidential campaigns, highlighting his record, praising loyal supporters, and criticizing Democrats.

NPR reports that the visibility of Vice Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and Senator Jon Husted alongside Trump drew large, enthusiastic crowds, though it remains unclear whether such associations provide a measurable electoral advantage as Election Day approaches.
