The Democratic Republic of Congo is grappling with a spreading Ebola outbreak that has now infected a seventh province. The expansion follows the movement of an infected individual who traversed multiple regions within the DRC before passing through neighboring Rwanda and Uganda.
Despite the geographic spread, virologist Placide Mbala indicated that health authorities are observing positive signs of declining transmission rates. However, he emphasized that officials remain cautious regarding the trajectory of the outbreak.
