Converse, the well-known American footwear company, has issued an official apology and pulled an advertisement following widespread criticism that the visual content recalled imagery associated with the Ku Klux Klan.
In its statement, the brand acknowledged the severity of the backlash, stating that it recognized why the depiction was “deeply upsetting” to many viewers. The advertisement has since been removed from circulation as the company addresses the concerns raised by the public.
