Unfortunately, despite a vast expansion of executive branch authority, Congress seems prepared to let partisan advantage trump comity, cooperation and the public’s right to know. And with Republicans now controlling Congress and the White House, reform seems out of reach.

  2. Wait, Republicans control both? I thought the article said this was a bipartisan failure, not just one party’s doing.

  3. It feels like theater now, not governance. We tune in expecting accountability and get shouting matches instead.
