Steven Kolb, the chief executive of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), has announced his resignation. The decision comes just days after video footage emerged showing him physically restraining two animal rights activists during an altercation at New York Fashion Week.
In a statement released regarding his departure, Kolb reflected on his two-decade tenure leading the organization. “After 20 years leading the CFDA, I have made the difficult decision to step down as CEO and president,” he said. He added that he remains proud of the institution’s achievements and believes the timing is appropriate for both himself and the organization to move forward.
