Shili Chen and Shouyong Zhang, both aged 77, are set to appear in court on Wednesday for their arraignment on the charges. Legal representation for the couple was not immediately available for comment before the scheduled appearance.
The victim has been identified as a games engineer for the New York Times. His wife, Candice Jang, appeared virtually at Wednesday’s hearing but was not reachable for further comment by reporters.
