A film adaptation of DreadXP’s indie horror video game “Amanda the Adventurer” is currently in development at Blumhouse. The project was announced during the Blumfest panel at New York Comic Con on Friday, where producer Jason Blum and Matthew “MatPat” Patrick took the stage.
Patrick, best known as the former host of the “Game Theory” and “Film Theory” YouTube channels, will spearhead the adaptation. During the event, Blum revealed that Blumhouse has entered into a multi-project deal with Patrick, with the “Amanda the Adventurer” movie serving as the first collaboration.
Alongside Blum and Patrick, the film will be produced by Epic Pictures CEO Patrick Ewald. The trio confirmed that they are currently in discussions with potential writers and directors for the project, promising that additional details will be shared soon.
Patrick is represented by Dan Levitt at The.Team.
