Barcelona have ruled out a January transfer for Argentina striker Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid. The 24-year-old is now waiting to see if Paris Saint-Germain or Arsenal launch bids, or whether he will remain at his current club.
In other transfer news, Liverpool are unwilling to consider selling German midfielder Florian Wirtz to Bayern Munich. The Bavarians are reportedly only prepared to pursue the 23-year-old next summer, and even then, only if France winger Michael Olise declines a contract extension.
Chelsea have shifted their attention toward English talent, identifying Bournemouth’s Alex Scott and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton as their primary midfield targets. The West London side has dropped interest in Monaco and Senegal international Lamine Camara.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa are looking to reward Emi Buendia for his strong performances by opening talks on a new contract for the 29-year-old Argentine midfielder.
At Manchester United, left-back Luke Shaw may depart when his contract expires next summer, with the club considering a replacement in January. In Italy, Udinese are close to signing Austrian defender David Alaba, who left Real Madrid this summer.
