At Least 16 Injured in Overnight Russian Missile and Drone Strike on Kyiv

KYIV, Ukraine — A coordinated Russian attack involving missiles and drones struck Ukraine’s capital overnight into Thursday, leaving at least 16 people injured, according to local authorities.

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that the barrage hit more than 10 locations across the city. Among those injured were a 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, the administration stated in a Telegram post.

Ukraine’s Air Force indicated that its defenses intercepted or destroyed 131 Russian aerial targets during the overnight assault. The primary areas targeted included the Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions. Strikes were recorded at 36 distinct locations, with debris from intercepted targets falling on five sites. The attack involved ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and 157 drones and decoys.

Damage assessments revealed significant impact in several districts. In the Dniprovsky district, a warehouse, an office building, residential properties, and vehicles were damaged. The Solomyansky district saw damage to a warehouse, while the Darnitsky district sustained damage to a warehouse and cars. Additionally, the roof of a non-residential building was damaged in the Podilsky district.
