Future, the parent company of the Android-focused blog Android Central, has confirmed that the website will remain operational despite laying off its entire editorial team yesterday.
Four of the six staff members listed on the site’s team page publicly disclosed their termination. The employees who spoke out include Shruti Shekar, Derrek Lee, Harish Jonnalagadda, and Nicholas Sutrich. Additionally, former senior editor Namerah Saud Fatmi updated her LinkedIn profile to reflect the end of her tenure.
Lee, who serves as the managing editor, and Sutrich both verified that the layoffs encompassed all remaining personnel. According to reports, former employees were not informed whether the platform would be shut down completely following the cuts.
