Amazon Prime Day Discounts Apple MacBook Air M5 by $200

During Amazon’s October Prime Day event, the 13-inch MacBook Air equipped with the M5 chip has been reduced to $1,099, effectively reversing the price hikes Apple implemented back in June. Normally retailing for $1,299, this specific configuration includes 512GB of storage and offers performance significantly superior to the entry-level $699 MacBook Neo.

Simultaneously, the 15-inch model with identical storage capacity is now priced at $1,299, down from its usual $1,499. The larger screen variant distinguishes itself with an enhanced audio setup featuring six speakers total and two additional GPU cores designed to improve graphical capabilities.

The 2026 MacBook Air features a noticeable acceleration in both processor and storage speeds compared to prior generations. Although it lacks radical new design elements relative to its predecessor, the device remains a top recommendation due to its robust battery life, vibrant display, and high-quality speakers.

  1. That six-speaker setup on the 15-inch model sounds incredible for media consumption. Definitely worth the extra $200 over the base model if you watch a lot of movies.

  2. It’s interesting that Amazon is the first to drop the price here. I wonder if other retailers will match this soon, or if it’s a limited-time Prime exclusive?

  3. Wait, does the M5 actually justify the price jump over the Neo? I just need email and browsing, and I’m trying to stick to my budget this year.

  4. Finally, a real discount on Apple Silicon! My old Intel MacBook is gasping for air, so this $1,299 deal for the 15-inch is hard to ignore.
