Airlines have intensified calls for government intervention and accountability regarding the United Kingdom’s air traffic control infrastructure following a second significant technical disruption in two weeks.
The latest incident, which occurred on Monday morning, involved a fault at the National Air Traffic Services (NATS) control centre in Prestwick, Scotland. As a result, dozens of flights were cancelled while many others faced severe delays, impacting airports throughout Scotland, northern England, and Northern Ireland.
NATS has stated that the issue at its secondary control centre has been resolved. However, the recurrence of such problems has prompted carriers to demand concrete measures to prevent future failures in the nation’s aviation navigation systems.
Are passengers being compensated for these repeated delays, or is that also broken?
How can they call themselves a critical national service if they can’t handle basic tech glitches?
I missed my flight because of this. Just fix the infrastructure already instead of making excuses.
This is the second time in two weeks? Something is seriously wrong with their maintenance schedule.
