AI Actress Tilly Norwood Stumbles Through Press Tour with Glitches and Language Errors

Tilly Norwood, an artificial intelligence-generated “actress,” is encountering significant challenges during her inaugural press tour. Created by Particle6 Group, she has been made available for seventy-five simultaneous interviews with journalists, yet reports indicate she is committing errors throughout the process.

During a widely viewed interview with Piers Morgan and actor Tom Conti, Norwood appeared to malfunction, abruptly switching to spoken Chinese for over ten seconds. The incident occurred while discussing the film she is promoting. When Conti asked whether the other performers on screen were human actors or computer-generated images, Norwood initially responded that human writers, editors, and directors were involved. After correcting herself to state that the other actors were digital twins similar to herself, she paused before beginning to speak in Chinese.

Morgan expressed confusion, noting that Norwood seemed to be speaking Chinese randomly and without reason. Norwood apologized, describing the event as a “hiccup” and suggesting that her “wires get a bit crossed.” She clarified that she did not intend to start speaking Chinese or impersonate Morgan.

The performance contrasts sharply with other AI interactions that have raised safety concerns due to their convincing human-like qualities. Norwood’s pronounced difficulties in basic conversation have led some to speculate that Particle6 Group may have intentionally allowed these flaws to surface to generate publicity, ensuring the upcoming film receives attention through mockery rather than serious engagement.
