A24 has announced plans to release a new documentary chronicling the life of Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes. Titled ‘You Can See Everything,’ the project is directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim.
The three-hour film was shot in 2023, shortly before Holmes was sentenced to an 11-year prison term for defrauding investors. According to The New York Times, Holmes granted the filmmakers extensive access to her life in an effort to clear her name.
Fielder, who is known for his comedic work, appears prominently in the teaser released by the studio. In one scene, he is shown staring uncomfortably into Holmes’ eyes as she asks, “Why would I deceive you? There’s no reason for me to do that.”
The documentary is said to include “innovative recreations” alongside intense conversations with Holmes. Reports also indicate that the film features discussions between Holmes and her partner regarding plans to launch a new and improved version of Theranos.
This release follows two previous documentaries and a Hulu miniseries about the startup founder. Holmes has reportedly been more enthusiastic about this portrayal than previous ones, having become an active presence on the social media platform X.
