Venture capital giant Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) is introducing a new educational initiative designed to channel young talent directly into the Silicon Valley startup ecosystem. Dubbed the “Horowitz Andreessen Academy,” the program was announced with a roster of ten founding partners, including industry heavyweights such as Google, Meta, Palantir, NVIDIA, OpenAI, Anthropic, Anduril, Coinbase, Replit, and Stripe.
The inaugural class is backed by a $42 million funding round led by a16z. Despite being marketed as a highly selective institution, the academy does not confer academic degrees or formal accreditation. Instead, the curriculum focuses on practical experience, featuring short instructional sessions led by prominent tech leaders and cooperative education placements that provide students with roles at partner technology companies.
One-year participants in the program will engage in this intensive, hands-on training model aimed at preparing them to either found or join early-stage ventures in the technology sector.
