Benjamin Satterley, the British professional wrestler widely recognized by his ring name Pac, has died at the age of 40. His representatives confirmed the passing, which was announced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW) just 24 hours after he competed in the company’s “All Out” event in Chicago on Saturday.
AEW expressed that they were “saddened to announce the passing” of Satterley, noting that he had been part of their roster since 2019. The promotion highlighted that the Newcastle upon Tyne native began his career in 2004 and became known globally for his innovative high-flying style and exceptional in-ring ability. He won multiple AEW championships and is credited with starring in some of the organization’s most memorable matches.
Satterley also competed extensively for other major promotions, including World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and Mexico’s Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. Over the course of his career, he utilized various personas, such as Adrian Neville and “The Man that Gravity Forgot,” a nickname derived from his signature finishing move involving a 360-degree spin from the top rope.
No cause of death has been disclosed. Tributes from across the wrestling world have poured in, with many expressing shock and grief. WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman described Satterley as a “tremendous talent and even finer human being,” calling the news a “truly terrible loss.”
AEW President Tony Khan praised Satterley for defining excellence both personally and professionally, citing his athleticism and skill. Fellow British wrestler Will Ospreay called him “the greatest export from our country” and “the greatest human being.” AEW competitor Evil Uno echoed the sentiment, stating, “We have lost another great person, a great soul, a true professional.”
Tom Campbell, a commentator for the Cultaholic Wrestling YouTube channel based in Newcastle, remembered Satterley as a local legend. “He was a Geordie lad that took on the entire wrestling world and has left a mark that will not be forgotten,” Campbell told BBC Radio Newcastle, adding that working alongside him was an incredible experience.
