In a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Sunday, President Donald Trump directed sharp criticism at the U.S. Supreme Court for its recent decisions regarding Missouri’s congressional redistricting plan.
Trump argued that the high court has consistently interfered with the state’s ability to secure a favorable electoral outcome, noting that the justices have overridden lower-court judges who had reached what he described as the correct decisions. This marks the third instance in which the Supreme Court has blocked the Republican-leaning map proposed by Missouri officials.
“The Supreme Court of the United States will just not let Missouri have an Election Victory. They continuously, three times now, overrule Judges who came to the correct decisions,” Trump wrote in his Sunday morning statement. The controversy highlights ongoing tensions between state political objectives and federal judicial review in the realm of electoral districting.
