Peloton is expanding its fitness equipment lineup for fall 2026 with three new treadmill models designed to cater to different budgets and runner profiles. While the company recently showcased the premium Tread Vision at IFA in Berlin, it has now revealed the Tread Flex, a foldable machine priced at $2,195 that aims to attract beginners and those with limited space.
The Tread Flex marks Peloton’s most accessible entry into the treadmill market, significantly undercutting the price of its original launch model from over eight years ago, which retailed for approximately $4,000. Its standout feature is a vertical folding mechanism that reduces its footprint by roughly half compared to standard treadmills. The unit is equipped with wheels for easy repositioning and includes a two-step release system with a locking pin to safely secure the deck when stored upright.
Despite the lower price point, Peloton claims the Flex maintains a relatively quiet operation, generating 70 decibels at a maximum speed of 12.5 mph. However, the company notes this measurement does not account for the additional noise produced by feet striking the belt during use.
The treadmill retains key connectivity features, including a pivoting screen. While Peloton has not yet confirmed the exact dimensions, the display is smaller than the 23.8-inch screens found on the Tread Vision and Tread+ Vision models, which retail for $3,495 and $6,695 respectively. Industry observers expect it may match the 21.5-inch Full HD screen of previous generations. The device also continues the partnership with Sonos, featuring built-in speakers.
Although it lacks the integrated camera found on newer Peloton gear, the Tread Flex supports Peloton IQ, offering personalized training schedules, feedback, and coaching. This includes custom pace targets based on a user’s last 10 workouts and heart-rate zone training, particularly focusing on Zone 2, a feature frequently requested by the company’s existing community.
Additionally, the new Tread series introduces a feature called ReRuns, which allows users to import runs tracked via the Peloton app or Apple Watch. The treadmill can then simulate elevation changes and other route details, enabling runners to virtually recreate their outdoor or recorded sessions indoors.
Does the ReRuns feature work with Garmin or Only Apple Watch? That would be a dealbreaker for me if it’s Apple-only.
Seven hundred bucks cheaper than the original? Peloton is really trying hard to capture the beginner market now.
