Trump Directs Interior Dept to Review Gray Wolf Protections

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday instructing the Interior Department to evaluate the potential removal of gray wolves from the Endangered Species Act. The directive also asks the agency to consider whether it is feasible to facilitate increased authorization for killing the animals.

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum has been given a three-month deadline to assess whether both gray wolves and Mexican gray wolves have recovered sufficiently to warrant delisting by the federal government.
