Nvidia’s RTX Spark Superchip Powers First AI-Optimized Laptops

Three months after Nvidia unveiled its RTX Spark “superchip” and teased upcoming laptop designs, the technology has arrived. Announced at the IFA 2026 tech show in Berlin, the new hardware includes both laptops and mini desktop PCs tailored for local agentic AI workflows such as OpenClaw.

The flagship device is the Lenovo Yoga 9n, a 16-inch 2-in-1 laptop that positions itself as a direct competitor to the MacBook Pro. The unit features a 2880 x 1800 OLED touch display with a 120-Hz refresh rate, encased in a premium metallic chassis with rounded edges and minimal bezels. High-end specifications also include a six-speaker audio system and a 9.2-megapixel webcam.

Weighing in at just 0.69 inches thick, the Yoga 9n is only 0.03 inches thicker than the 16-inch MacBook Pro. This slim profile is made possible by Nvidia’s Arm-based system-on-a-chip (SoC), which integrates a Grace CPU, a Blackwell RTX GPU, and memory into a single package. The chip reportedly offers up to 20 CPU cores and up to 6,144 GPU cores, sharing architectural similarities with Apple silicon rather than traditional Windows laptops.

Theoretically, the integrated GPU performance sits between an RTX 5070 Ti and an RTX 5080, though Nvidia plans to offer lower-powered configurations as well. While specific battery life claims were not disclosed, the use of an Arm-based SoC is expected to deliver greater efficiency compared to systems with discrete GPUs.
