Woman, 67, Found Dead in Suitcase at Kansas Fire Station; Identified as Lorretta Moody

A homicide probe is currently active in Wichita, Kansas, after authorities discovered the body of a 67-year-old woman inside a suitcase at a local fire station.

According to the Wichita Police Department, the incident came to light Wednesday evening when two individuals arrived at Wichita Fire Station 22 carrying a suitcase and reported that a body was inside. Officers were then dispatched to investigate the scene.

On Friday, police confirmed the identity of the victim as Lorretta Moody. Authorities stated that detectives are currently conducting interviews with the two people who delivered the suitcase to the station. Investigators are working to establish the relationship between Moody and the individuals being questioned, as well as to construct a complete timeline of events.

Police emphasized that no arrests have been made at this time and that there is no apparent threat to the general public. Investigators are continuing to review evidence and interview additional individuals to further the case.
