Sydney Woman Sentenced for Killing and Dismembering Abusive Husband

A Sydney woman has been ordered to serve an additional 12 months in prison for the killing and dismemberment of her abusive husband, following a series of deceptive statements made to law enforcement.

Nirmeen Noufl, 55, appeared in court on Friday after entering a guilty plea in August. She admitted to killing her husband, Mamdouh, in what she claimed was excessive self-defence during an assault at their Sydney residence where she was being choked.

Justice Peter Hamill delivered a scathing assessment of the crime scene and the subsequent cover-up efforts. Highlighting the severity of the actions taken after the fatal incident, Justice Hamill stated that the disposal of the body was “as thorough as it was brutal.”

The additional sentencing time addresses Noufl’s multiple lies to police intended to conceal the extent of her involvement and the manner in which she handled her husband’s remains.
