Barclays is encountering significant resistance regarding its new return-to-office directives, as thousands of employees are advocating for financial assistance with commuting expenses and exemptions for those residing more than 40 minutes from their workplace.
The unionized workforce, represented by Unite, is pushing back against the policy introduced earlier this summer, which requires staff to be in the office a minimum of three days per week starting in October. Under the revised schedule, senior personnel are expected to attend the office at least four days weekly.
