An Australia Post worker driven by a crippling gambling addiction stole dozens of bank cards to finance purchases of gold jewellery, mobile phones, and online gaming gift cards. Mauro Paul Coluzzi, along with two associates, defrauded customers and financial institutions of over $130,000 through the criminal schemes.
Coluzzi was sentenced to imprisonment until December 2027 for leading two criminal syndicates that operated using the pilfered payment cards. The emotional impact of the sentencing was evident in the courtroom, where Coluzzi’s family members broke down as the sentence was handed down.
Gambling addiction ruins lives. I feel bad for his family, but not for him.
How did he manage to swipe dozens of cards without getting caught for so long?
December 2027? That seems like a harsh sentence for property crime, doesn’t it?
This is absolutely sickening. Stole from people who trust the postal service.
