Treble Secures $18 Million to Expand Voice Simulation Platform for AI and Hardware

Iceland-based startup Treble has raised an additional $18 million in its Series A extension, further cementing its position as a critical infrastructure provider for the booming voice AI sector. The funding round was led by Paladin Capital Group, with participation from existing backers KOMPAS VC, Frumtak Ventures, EIC, and Omega ehf.

Founded in 2020 by acoustic engineers Finnur Pind and Jesper Pedersen, Treble currently has over $40 million in total funding, including a $12 million injection received in 2024. The company, which counts major tech firms such as Amazon and Logitech among its clients, aims to bridge the gap between model development and real-world application by offering simulation and testing services.

The venture capital firm Paladin highlights the growing necessity of Treble’s infrastructure. Francois Ruether, VP at Paladin, noted that as more consumer products rely on auditory interaction, a simulation-native acoustic layer becomes increasingly vital across voice AI, wearables, robotics, and physical AI sectors. He emphasized that customers maintain ownership of their models and workflows while leveraging Treble’s shared simulation foundation.

Treble’s platform serves multiple verticals, primarily focusing on synthetic data generation for speech enhancement, noise suppression, and model training. Earlier this year, the startup collaborated with Hugging Face to introduce a benchmark for evaluating speech recognition models under varied realistic conditions.

“Audio AI is fundamentally a data challenge, which is where the most significant opportunities for next-generation models and hardware exist,” said Pind. “Historically, sound-related AI has relied on recordings and internet-scraped data, but we believe accurate physics simulation offers a powerful alternative for data creation.”

Beyond software, Treble assists hardware manufacturers in virtual prototyping. The company helps headphone and speaker makers predict acoustic performance and tests how smart speakers interpret commands based on device placement. Recently, Treble has expanded its focus to include smart glasses and other AI wearables.

Pind expressed particular enthusiasm for the potential of future wearable technology to enhance human hearing capabilities. He described features such as “superhuman hearing,” where devices could isolate voices within a specific range or mute background noise in crowded environments like restaurants or seminars.

The new capital will support Treble’s expansion into the physical AI space, targeting robotics, automotive, and drone industries to enable sound-based functionalities through rigorous testing and simulation.
