At TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, Max Hodak, CEO of Science Corporation and co-founder of Neuralink, will present a vision where digital interaction moves beyond physical displays. Speaking during his “Beyond Screens” session on the Disrupt Stage, Hodak aims to demonstrate how brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) can adapt to human neural patterns, fundamentally altering how users engage with technology.
The presentation comes as Science Corporation prepares to begin the first U.S. human trials for its biohybrid BCI technology. Led by a leading neurobiologist, the initiative seeks to transition BCIs from experimental concepts into clinical reality. Hodak plans to share initial findings from these efforts with the more than 10,000 founders, investors, and tech leaders attending the event.
Hodak’s focus on neural engineering is rooted in a career dedicated to improving the human-machine interface. After studying biomedical engineering at Duke University and working in Miguel Nicolelis’s BCI laboratory, he co-founded the robotic cloud lab Transcriptic before establishing Neuralink in 2016. He left Neuralink in 2021 to launch Science Corporation, which concentrates on restorative technologies for vision, cognition, and mobility.
The company has already achieved significant clinical milestones, notably restoring sight to patients with severe vision loss through its PRIMA implant. The system utilizes specialized glasses equipped with a camera to transmit images to a chip implanted in the retina. Beyond vision restoration, Hodak envisions future applications for helping repair damaged brain tissue, detecting seizures, and potentially treating severe neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease.
Science Corporation recently closed a Series C funding round valued at $1.5 billion, securing $230 million in capital. TechCrunch Disrupt returns to Moscone West in San Francisco from October 13-15, featuring over 250 sessions with a specific emphasis on sustainable AI development across six industry stages.
