Minivans are experiencing a resurgence in the United States market. Sales data from 2025 indicates a 21 percent increase, suggesting that consumers fatigued by SUVs are returning to the minivan segment and shedding the vehicle’s previous reputation.
Kia is actively participating in this trend with its Carnival model, which has been available in the US since 2021. The automaker is also distinguished as one of the few manufacturers producing all-electric vans. At the IAA Transportation event in Germany this week, Kia introduced the PV7, marking its second electric van under the Pla platform.

Finally, an EV van that doesn’t look like a spaceship? Kia is really nailing the practical design for commercial drivers.
