Warner Bros.’ sequel Practical Magic 2 has taken the number one spot at the U.K. and Ireland box office, ending a six-week reign held by Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film earned an opening weekend gross of £2.7 million, equivalent to approximately $3.7 million.
Disney followed closely in second place with the theatrical release of Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger, which captured $3.5 million during its debut frame. Rounding out the new entries at the summit was 20th Century Fox’s thriller Pressure, which secured third place with $2.7 million.
In other chart movements, Universal’s The Odyssey maintained fourth place in its ninth week, adding $1.2 million to bring its cumulative total to $114.3 million. Sony’s superhero hit Spider-Man: Brand New Day dropped to fifth position in its seventh frame, generating $1.1 million. With a running total of $132.7 million, the film has surpassed Spider-Man: No Way Home, Avatar, and No Time to Die to become the third highest-grossing title in the region’s history, trailing only Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Skyfall.
Signature Entertainment’s survival sequel Fall 2 entered at sixth place with $648,421, while Sony’s Insidious: Out of the Further took seventh, adding $619,084 to reach a cumulative $9.9 million. Entertainment Film Distributors’ action thriller Runner, starring Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson, bowed in eighth with $517,727. Paramount’s 45th-anniversary 4K re-issue of Raiders of the Lost Ark landed at ninth with $326,263, and Altitude Film Distribution’s Coyote vs. Acme completed the top 10 in its fourth week with $188,463, pushing its total to $2.6 million.
Looking ahead, mid-week releases include Seventh Art Productions’ Exhibition On Screen: James McNeill Whistler 2026 and Move Over Productions’ documentary The Route to Cappyness. Major Friday openings across more than 300 locations will feature Sony’s Resident Evil and Paramount’s Bad Apples, starring Saoirse Ronan. Additional releases span music documentaries, animated features, and event cinema broadcasts throughout the weekend.
